Acopperlypse VR is available for free download
You may remember seeing some of these copper characters last year, initially released at VR World Congress 2017. A proof of concept (PoC) asymmetric two-player VR/hologram experience. The incredible feedback we received throughout the 3-day event inspired us to develop and release a single-player VR version for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Acopperlypse VR.
The backdrop is simple: a steampunk-inspired VR experience set in a dystopian future 439 years from now.
Building on the learnings from our asymmetric PoC, we wanted to further streamline our VR art/dev workflow and deliver a truly immersive VR game experience. A typical interactive project (VR / AR / MR) would have its target hardware defined at pre-production. Without a particular VR hardware configuration established at the start, we decided to work to non-commercial VR set-ups. This led to a hugely improved and modernised pipeline of our art assets and software development framework.
The end result? A stable VR app that performs on lower end VR hardware configurations.

If you haven’t got an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive casually knocking about then drop us a line and have a play in our Lab. I must warn you though – it’s pretty addictive!
